Malaysian tourists visiting  Indonesia in the first quarter of 2010 increased 25 pct, an official said. In the same period last year the increase reached only 1.5 pct,  secretary of the tourism marketing directorate general Noviendi Makalam said in Kuala Lumpur Thursday.

The ministry of tourism has been trying to attract 1.3 million Malaysian tourists to Indonesia in 2010, while their number last year reached only about one million. Noviendi also denied that the increase was due to the crisis facing Thailand.
